PRESS: MTS to replace egg logo with red square on Thursday

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS will replace its logo in the form of an egg used since 2006 with a red square with three letters M,T, and S along its perimeter on Thursday, RBC Daily reported quoting President Vyacheslav Nikolayev.

The new logo will be used for its core business, while MTS’ subsidiaries, sub-brands, such as MTS-auto, MTS-music, will have their name in a corner of the square. The company’s motto “Be Better Every Day” will remain.

MTS deigned its new concept together with agencies Signal, part of ONY, and BBDO. Agencies UtterDesign and Ony were behind the new brand.

Nikolayev said that a slight visual rebranding in 2019 was not enough and the company decided to change it more dramatically. He added that the brand awareness was at 98%, but the consumers associate MTS with the red colour, not an egg.
